Mike Gentile, CEO, Independent Stationers

2013 saw Independent Stationers' (IS) membership increase by 10%, sparked by new affiliate programmes that give specialised resellers access to previously unavailable programmes and services. Federal sales grew by 19% and IS was a winner of the Ability

New national accounts opportunities were created with hundreds of new US Communities (USC) office product accounts, plus the award of the new USC school supply contract. The CHAMPS contract was extended on 1 January 2014, the Premier contract with Friends Business Source is seeing material growth, and the entire 180+ bank chain of Great Western Bank was secured.

CEO Mike Gentile says the focus in 2014 will be to continue to grow the membership through strategic memberships and affiliations and to create programmes and sales opportunities that enable IS members and affiliates to grow market share in traditional and emerging categories.
