20 January 2005 – Stamford (CT): Xerox has awarded its annual scholarships to 150 graduate and undergraduate students from across the US, for high achievement in the fields of science, engineering and technology.
The scholarships, given to minority students in technical degree programmes, give $1,000 towards each winner’s tuition costs for the 2004-2005 academic year.
VP of Xerox Joseph Chalan said: "By investing in the colleges, universities, and students of today, we aim to help build the strong, diverse work force of tomorrow that high-tech global enterprises like Xerox rely on for ongoing business success."
Since Xerox commenced the scholarship programme in 1987, more than 130 students have benefited from almost $2 million in funding.
