Xerox nets multimillion Staples contract

15 December 2004 – Framingham (MA): Xerox has won a three-year multimillion dollar contract with Staples to supply digital printers and copiers to the retail giant’s 1,100 copy and print centres across the US.

Under the agreement, Xerox will install 5,000 digital colour and black-and-white printers and copiers to Staples stores. The retailer has set out aims to upgrade its in-store equipment to all-digital technology by early 2005.

Michael Brannigan, president of Xerox North American solutions group, said: "This agreement demonstrates the strength of Xerox’s relationships with leading customers like Staples.

"Staples’ transformation into an all-digital document service provider reflects the growing market need for colour and personalised printing," he added.

No additional details of the contract were disclosed.
