2 March 2005 – Washington (DC): Carly Fiorina, the recently-ousted CEO of Hewlett-Packard, is in the running to become the World Bank’s next president, according to a Bush administration official.
Fiorina, one of the highest-profile CEO’s in the US of recent years, is the latest candidate to surface in the hunt for a successor to James Wolfensohn, the current president of the World Bank who will step down on 1 June at the end of his second five-year term.
