20 April 2006– Federal Way (WA): Weyerhaeuser has revealed plans to realign its wood, paper and pulp divisions as part of a restructuring effort that will allow the businesses to respond to the market more quickly.
The company’s chairman, president and CEO Steven Rogel, who has yet to go public with details of the initiative, said he ordered the streamlining after seeing the company’s ability to serve customers hindered by recent acquisitions. "As companies get bigger, they can and do get harder to deal with," he said in an interview. "We knew we had to do something different."
