Congratulations Stuart on your new position as editor of OPI and welcome to the office products industry. I’m confident that you will find the industry interesting and filled with a number of entertaining characters.
I would agree with Bruce Ackland’s comments [OPI June] that OPI has been on the side of independent dealers. As a buying group in the US representing such dealers, the support from OPI is important and greatly appreciated. On behalf of our 500 dealer members, thank you for the continued support of independent office products dealers.

Dear Editor,
The SP Richards team would like to take this opportunity to thank the independent dealers, tradeshow exhibitors, speakers, entertainers and staff who helped to make the recent 2006 Advantage Business Conference the biggest and best ever. The Las Vegas event hosted more dealers and featured more vendors and more new products than ever before. The all-new educational programs and keynote speakers drew rave reviews, ensuring that at least some of what went on in Vegas went home with SP Richards’ customers to be implemented in their businesses. Thank you to the dealers who took the time to travel to Las Vegas and share a few days with us. A tremendous thank you goes out to our vendors. We could not have had a successful show without the incredible support of our vendor partners. Not only did they make the Expo a success, but they contributed to the show’s exciting atmosphere by sponsoring entertainment that was pure Las Vegas – from Cirque-style acrobats to Elvis impersonators to an evening in the country’s hottest nightclub, PURE.
We feel confident that our customers, exhibitors and business partners left Las Vegas with enough ideas, energy and motivation to finish out 2006 in spectacular fashion. We hope the experience will bring them back for more in 2007 as we take the show to Nashville, Tennessee, where the focus will be on The Next Generation.
