Warehouse Group reviewing Australian options

28 June 2005 – Melbourne (AUS): Trans-Tasman retailer The Warehouse Group has confirmed that it is reviewing strategic options for its Australian business.

The company has said that it is in talks with competitor Miller’s Retail and a number of other parties.

Several newspapers have reported that Warehouse and Miller’s are holding talks about a potential A$300 million ($230.3 million) sale of their combined Australian discount store chains.

Warehouse has said that talks are of a preliminary nature and it would premature to speculate on the outcome.
