22 May 2006 – Seoul (SKR): Wal-Mart is to sell its South Korean stores to Shinsegae for $882 million.
In April, the world’s second largest retailer Carrefour sold its South Korean operations for $1.85 billion.
Shinsegae has a third of South Korea’s discount store market.
