Wal-Mart predicts same-store sales rise

27 February 2006 – Bentonville (AR): Wal-Mart has estimated that its February sales rose 3.2 per cent at its US stores open at least a year. 
 
The world’s biggest retailer discontinued its weekly sales updates as of this month. Wal-Mart and most other major retailers will release final February sales results on Thursday.
 
Analysts have been concerned that retailers would post disappointing demand due to cold weather and heavy snow in parts of the country.
