Wal-Mart number two in Fortune 500

4 April 2006 – Bentonville (AR): Wal-Mart was knocked off top spot in this year’s Fortune 500 list of the largest companies in the US.
The retailer came in at second place with revenue of $315.65 billion behind petroleum giant Exxon Mobil. Hewlett-Packard were listed in 11th place and Staples in 137th, maintaining their place as the largest OP retailer.
