10 January 2005 – Bentonville (AR): Wal-Mart has promoted Eduardo Castro-Wright, currently president and CEO of Wal-Mart Mexico, to the position of EVP and COO of its US stores division.
Castro-Wright, who has headed the majority-owned Mexican unit since 2001, will start in his new position on 25 February, reporting to Michael Duke, president and CEO of the division.
The present COO of Wal-Mart Mexico, Eduardo Solorzano, will replace Castro-Wright as president and CEO.
