31 January 2005 – Bentonville (AK): Wal-Mart expects same-store sales in January to grow by just 2.5 per cent, it has announced.
The retail giant had previously said it expected sales to grow by between 2 and 4 per cent, but the winter storms that paralysed travel in much of the country’s northeast and mid-west last weekend caused it to slightly lower its estimates.
Financial results for the four weeks ending 28 January will be reported on 3 February.
