Wal-Mart keeps comp sales outlook for October

11 October 2004 – Chicago (IL): Wal-Mart has said that it still expects a two per cent to four per cent increase in October sales at all stores that have been open for more than a year.

The sales outlook for the four weeks ending 29 October are expected to be up from September, said the company, largely as a result of increased store traffic.

Office supplies is expected to be among the strongest US categories in October, as well as bedding, boys’ wear, food, health and beauty, and pet supplies.

The company will release sales for the period on 4 November.
