Wal-Mart heir dies in plane crash

28 June 2005 – Bentonville (AR): John Walton, son of Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton and a member of the company’s board died yesterday in a plane crash in Wyoming.

Walton, 58, was flying an ultralight which crashed soon after taking off from Jackson Hole Airport in Grand Teton National Park. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Walton was named as the eleventh richest person in the world by Forbes Magazine in March with a net worth of $18.2 billion.
