Villa to leave Spicers Italy

27 February 2006 – Castel San Giovanni (ITA): Spicers has announced the resignation of Franco Villa, managing director of Spicers Italy. Villa will leave the company at the end of March to take up a new role as general manager of Buffetti.
 
"Franco and the Italian team have done a great job in establishing Spicers in Italy," said Rob Vale, CEO of Spicers. "As a consequence, the business is growing strongly. We understand that Franco has received a truly unique offer and we are sorry to see him go, but his departure does not in any way affect our bold ambitions or plans for Spicers in Italy.  We are very grateful to Franco for his contribution to the growth of the business and wish him well in his new venture."
 
The search for a new managing director already underway. The day-to-day management of the business will be undertaken by the existing senior management team.
