US furniture market slows

7 June 2006 — Grand Rapids (MI): The US office furniture market is slowing after the sector recorded year-on-year single digit growth, according to BIFMA.

A string of eight consecutive double-digit monthly gains was broken in April with shipments and orders both rising a modest 6 percent to $825 million and $815 million, respectively.

The BIFMA report was based on a survey of 45 companies that account for about 76 percent of industry volume.
