UPM invests in uncoated magazine paper


1 December 2006 — Helsinki (FIN): UPM is to invest €38 million ($50.2 million) in the quality of its uncoated magazine paper.


The paper manufacturer will modernise mechanical pulp production at its Jämsänkoski mill in Finland. The investment will be completed early in 2008.


UPM’s Jämsänkoski mill produces magazine and label papers on four production lines. The mill’s annual production capacity is 870,000 tons and employs about 800 people.
