29 June 2006 — Helsinki (FIN): Paper manufacturers UPM have been informed their former CEO Juha Niemelä will not face charges relating to a US antitrust investigation.
The company was told the US Department of Justice Antitrust Division had completed its investigation concerning Niemelä and concluded no charges will be brought against him.
The Antitrust Division has granted UPM and its current and other former employees immunity from prosecution as announced by the company in February this year.
