2 October 2006 — Cheshunt (UK): Tesco is launching a range of own-brand software across 100 stores later this month.
The retailer has developed the software range with Cambridge-based software distributor, Formjet.
Initially, six software packages will be launched, including photo editing suites and an alternative to Microsoft Office, all for less than £20 ($38).
The retailer is also launching TescoSoftware.com, a website offering software support and online shopping.
Tesco, which has a UK market share of over 30 percent, will post its financial results for the first half of 2006 tomorrow and is expecting to post profit of over £1 billion.
