27 July 2006 — Quebec (CAN): Tembec, a large forest products company, has temporarily closed several sawmills in Quebec and Ontario. They are expected to remain closed for two weeks.
Tembec’s EVP and president, Dennis Rounsville, said that the closures are due to a combination of factors including "overall market conditions, product pricing and the annual two-week construction holiday in Quebec".
The shutdowns will affect 1500 employees.
