10 January 2005 – Las Vegas (NV): Some of the biggest tech names in the industry have backed a new initiative to encourage people to recycle their PCs properly.
The ‘Rethink’ campaign, announced by Ebay CEO Meg Whitman during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) last week in Las Vegas, has already received support from the likes of HP, IBM, Apple, Intel and Gateway.
It comes as a response to increasing regulator pressure to do something about the thousands of PCs that are discarded everyday that can release toxic materials including lead and mercury.
