Systemcare has busiest day ever

5 February 2007 — Birmingham (UK): Systemcare Products has reported its busiest ever day today after selling out of all of its hygiene kits for Avian Flu in just 30 minutes.

The switchboard at the Birmingham-based firm was inundated with calls from concerned businesses from 8.30am this morning, following the outbreak of Avian HN51 Flu at a turkey farm in the UK.

Government experts are currently hunting for the cause of the outbreak, which has prompted the cull of 160,000 birds since scientists confirmed the discovery of the deadly disease on 3 February.

The marketing director at the private label equipment cleaning and hygiene products firm, Doug Skeggs, said: "We had offered the kits about six months ago to all of our customers but only one of the major B2B resellers stocked in depth. We have extended our working day to meet back order demand. For business continuity the kits are like an insurance policy which we hope no one will have to use. Up to now, the US multinationals have shown the most interest."

The Avian Flu office protection packs contain gloves, masks and anti-bacterial spray.
