19 May 2006 – Indianapolis (IN): is.group has signed a letter of intent with global IT supply chain services provider Synnex Corporation to become its new third party logistics (3PL) provider.
The move to Synnex, which is expected to be completed over the next few months, will support the group’s RDC model and provide dealers with access to a greater breadth of full line products and services, inclusive of IT products and equipment, at a lower cost.
is.group chief Mike Gentile explained to OPI: "The RDC model is going well but costs are too high for dealers. Having Synnex as our 3PL provider, which is a lower cost operation, will ensure the sustainability of the RDC model because costs will go down dramatically."
