8 September 2006 — Weymouth (MA): InfoTrends’ 2006 Western European digital photography survey of 1,743 internet users has revealed that over half of the respondents print digital photographs from home.
The survey revealed that the preferred print location depends on print job size. Small jobs are best suited to home printing, while large jobs tend to be sourced to retailers or online photo services.
The survey also indicated strong regional differences in printing behaviour. Respondents from Germany and the UK were more likely to print from home while respondents from Spain and Italy were more likely to print at a retailer.
The survey suggests that vendors should not treat marketing activities as Pan-European but should tailor their activities toward separate countries.
