29 August 2006 — Toronto (CAN): Xerox Canada and Leger Marketing’s recent survey has revealed that 71 percent of Canadian SMEs worry about misplacing electronically stored documents.

The survey also found that 66 percent do not currently have an internal document management plan nor do they employ an outside service to manage their documents.

On average, Canadian SME managers say that employees spend more than one hour a week to find hard-copy documents at a cost of $2,152 per year. For companies with over ten employees the time spent on locating documents doubles and the costs more than doubles to $5,760 per year.
