PC makers are looking at reversing the trend of reducing the size of laptop computers with the dawn of super-size laptops the size of a briefcase.

The trend is being driven by technology and the release of 19- and 20-inch liquid crystal display (LCD) monitors that are now on the market.

In a sector driven by portability, experts believe the new super-size laptops will be a hit with high-performance users, such as gamers and home office users.

The world’s top PC maker, Dell, along with Taiwan’s Acer and South Korea’s Samsung Electronics, have all announced plans to market the mega laptops with screens of 19- and 20-inches.
