Strong sales boost Staples Q3

Staples has revealed a 14 per cent rise in Q3 profit as gains in the retailer’s copying services and sales of digital cameras and computers compensated for flat sales overseas.
The company posted net income of $237.8 million, or EPS of $0.32, compared to $208.9 million, or EPS of $0.28, the year before. Revenue rose 11 per cent to $4.25 billion.
Staples, which continues to impress, said it expects a Q4 profit of $0.38 a share, matching analysts’ predictions.
