23 February 2005 – Melbourne (AUS): Coles Myer has announced a solid surge in figures for its Officeworks subsidiary for the first half of the 2004/2005 year, the first time the parent company has reported separate figures for its OP division.

Officeworks recorded a sales growth of 12.3 per cent from A$415.1 million ($301 million) to A$466.1 million. Comp sales increased by 7.4 per cent.

The company put the figures down to a "very successful" back to school campaign in January, and the opening of five new stores during the half.
