22 May 2006 – Chicago (IL): Steelcase has signed a non-binding letter of intent to sell the majority of its Grand Rapids manufacturing space to Ashley Capital for an undisclosed sum.
Last year the office furniture manufacturer said it planned to sell 206 acres and 4 million sq ft of manufacturing space after it moved production to plants in Kentwood, Michigan and Mexico.
