31 January 2006 – Framingham (MA): Basil Anderson, vice chairman at Staples, will retire on 1 March, the retailer has announced.
He will be replaced by CFO John Mahoney.
Anderson, who has been vice chairman since 2001, will remain on the board of directors.
Staples also announced that COO Michael Miles was promoted to president. He will also remain as COO.
