Staples acquires Kansas dealer

29 November 2006 — Kansas City (MO): Staples has acquired Kansas City-based dealer Kross Office Outfitters.

Staples spokesman, Owen Davies, told OPI: "This acquisition fits right in with Staples’ previously stated strategy which is to opportunistically find high return opportunities that complement our existing operations."

He continued: "Kross is an established supplier with a great reputation. They’re known for their operational excellence and their great customer service. And like Staples, Kross has an excellent reputation for loyal customer relationships. Those factors all reflect Staples’ own commitments so it’s a very good fit."

Financial terms of the transaction, which consolidates Staples’ leadership in that market, are not known. The retailer plans to complete its integration plans for Kross over the coming weeks.
