Soporcel celebrates paper honour

4 July 2006 — Setubal (POR): Navigator office paper is currently the world leader in the premium office paper market segment, according to its makers Soporcel.

In 2005 more than 50 million reams were sold across the five continents, representing a year-on-year 25 percent increase.

The results of a Brand Equity survey carried out in 2004 by Opticom International Research revealed Navigator as the office paper brand with the "most loyal customers".

The Navigator brand is positioned in the premium segment and, according to Soporcel, matches the increasingly sophisticated needs of the more demanding users and the advertising and promotion campaigns specifically designed and aimed at the target consumers.

Navigator expanded its range in 2005 with the launch of the Navigator Office Card 160 g/m2 for more demanding work involving extensive use of colour and the need to print high-resolution images.

However, the real novelty was the launch of Navigator Kids, the first paper especially developed for children. Dedicated specifically to the consumers of the future, this new paper features colourful and appealing packaging in reusable cardboard with two reams of different grammages, each of 150 sheets, developed for diverse uses.

The 70 g/m2 ream is the ideal paper for children’s first creations and is produced in accordance with a sustainable forest management policy, a factor that now plays an increasingly important role in the consumers’ choices.
