26 October 2004 – Des Plaines (IL): United Stationers have reported a higher-than-expected Q3 profit, driven by lower freight costs and sales growth across its entire product portfolio.
The company’s net income went up to $26.3 million, or EPS of $0.78, from $23.3 million, or EPS of $0.69, in the Q3 of 2003.
Net sales bypassed the billion mark, rising to $1.03 billion from $979 million last year. The furniture and sanitation categories reported the largest gains.
The company is expecting positive annual results, it disclosed, with an annual earnings growth of 12 per cent to 15 per cent and sales figures above the industry average.
