SHOPA to host first Middle East event

8 February 2007 — Dubai (UAE): The School, Home, and Office Products Association (SHOPA) has announced its first SBTS (SHOPA Buyer to Seller) trade event in Dubai scheduled for 19-20 March 2007 at the JW Marriott hotel.

"This is a first for a US trade association in bringing this type of a trade event to the Middle East marketplace and the response has been very, very strong", said Steve Jacober, SHOPA’s president.

"The region is seeing such rapid growth in all businesses, we felt the timing was right to match vendors with buyers, and judging by the attendee support we have, the office products industry agrees."

SHOPA anticipates buyers from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, and Lebanon will be attending representing over 2,500 reseller locations. Attendees from the vendor community already registered for the event come from the USA, Canada, Portugal, Poland, Germany, Austria, Turkey and include well-known firms such as Elmer’s, MeadWestvaco, Accentra, Centrum Europa, and Bi-Silique.
