16 August 2005 – Greenville (WI): School Specialty has reported its financial results for Q1 2006. Revenue rose 6 per cent to $358 million from $337.8 million in the same period a year earlier. Net income was $34.6 million compared to $32 million in the previous year. EPS was up 5.1 per cent to $1.44 compared to $1.37 in Q1 2005.
President and CEO David Vander Zanden said: "We believe the state funding environment for preK-12 education has improved, and this has resulted in more profitable growth in our revenue base."
