24 January 2005 – Sandton (RSA): Sanford South Africa is in talks to be acquired by international distributor Jel Corporation, opi.net has discovered.
A spokesperson for Sanford South Africa said: "Negotiations to take over Sanford’s South African subsidiary are already underway and a final decision is expected to be made on 27 January, with contracts to be signed on 28 January. If the move goes ahead, Sanford South Africa will then be shut down."
Jel Corporation, which distributes a variety of products from brands such as Nikon, Gillette and Hitachi, already distributes Sanford products in Asia.
