Respected industry executive joins OPI management team

Business supplies industry media organisation Office Products International (OPI) has strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of a respected and highly-experienced executive from the OP industry.

Business supplies industry media organisation Office Products International (OPI) has strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of a respected and highly-experienced executive from the OP industry.

With effect from 6 August, the newly-created position of Chief Commercial Officer at OPI will be occupied by Chris Exner.

Aside from a recent and very short spell working in wealth management, Exner has spent almost his entire career in sales and market development within the OP sector, including 17 years at Esselte, now part of ACCO Brands, where his most recent position was VP Sales Asia.

Prior to that he held a number of roles with increasing responsibility at Esselte, including VP Sales Europe, VP Western Europe & Managing Director UK, and VP European Accounts.

As Chief Commercial Officer, Exner will have lead responsibility for delivering growth in several key areas of the OPI business including events where the company has identified several opportunities to diversify and expand its existing portfolio in multiple continents.

He will also oversee a significant drive to deliver growth in memberships and subscriptions, and in service offerings such as research, recruitment and executive search.

Commenting on the appointment, OPI CEO Steve Hilleard said: “We are delighted that someone as respected as Chris Exner, with more than two decades of OP industry experience, is joining our team.
