The Australian office products community has once again demonstrated its generosity with more than A$50,000 (US$33,000) raised at last week’s Christmas charity lunch in Sydney.

Organised by the Australian Office Products Charitable Fund (AOPCF), the event attracted more than 100 dealers, suppliers, wholesalers and guests to Club York, where AOPCF chairman John Donaghy worked feverously to extract maximum contributions to the fundraising auction and raffle.

Cheques for A$40,000 and A$10,000 were presented respectively to this year’s beneficiaries, MindBlank and Dandelion Support Network.

Donaghy – who is also Managing Director of Discount Office National – said the AOPCF was particularly thankful for the support of the two major sponsors – ACCO Brands and Complete Office Supplies – as well as other suppliers and individuals who donated cash and more than A$10,000 worth of items for school book packs.

Adam Colman, ACCO Brands Australia CEO, said: “Over the past two-plus decades, the Charitable Fund has provided numerous less well-known charities, including Dandelion and MindBlank, financial assistance enabling them to continue to support those in need within our community. ACCO Brands has been a proud major sponsor of the Charity Fund since its inception and applauds the work that the small team of dedicated volunteers undertakes each and every year. It is pleasing to see the supplier and reseller network come together for such a worthwhile cause.”

The Charity Fund’s next fundraising event will be the annual golf day in March 2023.
