Jan/san vendor Essity has said, excluding restructuring, it saw volume growth in its Professional Hygiene division.

The unit reported an 8% drop in sales in the first quarter of 2024 to SEK8.7 billion ($802 million), adjusted to -6.9% on an organic basis. The drop was mainly due to lower margin product exits in Europe and North America – excluding these, volumes would have been up by 0.9%.

The better product mix, partially offset by lower prices, helped adjusted EBITA grow by 3% to SEK1.3 billion, while adjusted EBITA margin was up by 160 basis points to 15.3%.
