The BOSS Federation is asking its members to fill out a UK government survey in relation to the Energy Bill Relief Scheme.

The trade association has been contacted by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) to encourage firms in the business supplies industry to participate. Responses to the government survey will help inform and shape the review of the Energy Bill Relief Scheme. They will determine the businesses and industries that are given ‘vulnerable status’ and therefore may be entitled to further support after the initial six-month support period ends on 31 March 2023.

“The wider evidence base we have, the more likely it will be that sectors will be considered for support,” BEIS told BOSS.

BOSS told its members: “The information [we] have gathered over the past few months clearly shows the impact on companies of the huge energy price increases, and the importance of mitigating government action – we need your help to make that point to the government.”

The association added: “When responding, you will be required to enter your company registration number, the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code for the industry you operate in, and a description of the industry your organisation operates in. Many BOSS members’ SIC code will start with 46/47 (a drop-down selection menu is provided). We advise, where possible, that BOSS members enter ‘Business Supplies’ in the industry description.
