BOSS issues urgent request for collective lobbying

Help BOSS urge UK government to provide support for our sector

Industry trade body BOSS Federation has responded to the UK government’s ‘work from home’ request, one of several restrictions implemented as part of its Plan B to manage COVID over the winter.

According to a BOSS statement issued today: “In addition to the work from home guidance and corresponding loss of trade, rising energy and other costs are hitting hard. For companies in our sector who are already struggling to recover for all of these reasons, the Plan B measures are a huge setback.

“BOSS is speaking to the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) directly to highlight this and we welcome hearing from members so we can share how they have been impacted. We have been advised in this instance that collective lobbying from our sector will have the most success and urge [industry participants] to send a letter if you believe our sector requires further support.”

To facilitate this industry-wide lobbying effort, BOSS has produced a very helpful template email which will enable any UK business in our sector to lobby their MP with just a few minutes of effort. OPI has written to its local MP and encourages all UK business supplies companies to act now and do the same

The template and instructions on how to send it to your local MP can be found here.
