BIC’s former CEO Bruno Bich has passed away at the age of 74, it has been announced.
Son of company founder Marcel Bich, Bruno devoted́ most of his professional life to BIC, joining the firm’s US subsidiary in 1975, at the age of 28. He eventually led BIC Corp – firmly establishing the brand in the North American market – for 11 years, before becoming Group CEO in 1993, a post he held for 13 years. Following that, he was Chairman until his retirement in 2018.
“Around the world, the BIC community will remember him as an inspirational business icon with a deep respect for the men and women he worked with,” the company said in a statement. “Together, they will continue his legacy to honour and develop his beloved BIC brand.”
