Jimmy Godwin, the former CEO and founder of Forms and Supply (now FSIoffice) passed away on 31 March at the age of 87.

After working in the office supply industry for five years, Jimmy ventured out on his own in 1962 and founded Forms and Supply with his wife Diane, who he had married two years earlier. Since then, FSIoffice has served businesses across the south-east of the US and grown from a ‘mom-and-pop operation’ into one of the largest independent office supply dealers in the country, with more than 250 employees.

Jimmy held the position of CEO until 2018, when he stepped back from active involvement with the company – although he continued to serve as a Senior Advisor until recently. Today, the dealership is led by Jimmy and Diane’s three children, Kim, Donna and Jay, with granddaughter Beth also on the executive team.

“Our father will be remembered in the business community as a generous and highly ethical leader who was guided by his faith in God,” said CEO Kim Leazer.

“He lived an incredible life and built a tremendous legacy in his family, business, and as a sower of the seeds of the gospel of Jesus Christ.”

A Celebration of Life service is planned for 1 pm on Saturday 15 April at Idlewild Baptist Church in Matthews, North Carolina. McEwen Funeral Home of Mint Hill (NC) is serving the family.

OPI extends its deepest condolences to Diane, Kim, Donna, Jay, Beth, the whole Godwin family and all FSIoffice associates.
