Former ACCO World (now ACCO Brands) Vice Chairman Desmond ‘Dez’ LaPlace has passed away, OPI has learned.
Dez passed peacefully at his home on 23 September at the age of 91. He was a driving force behind the international growth of ACCO in the 1970s-1990s, working alongside the likes of Doug Chapman. He retired from ACCO in 1996.
A few years after his retirement, Dez was interviewed by OPI, providing some interesting perspective on the state of the vendor channel at the time. You can read that interview here.
