Record quarter for Media Sciences

14 February 2007 — Oakland (NJ): Media Sciences International has announced record Q2 revenue of $6.1 million, an increase of 18 percent over the same quarter last year.

The growth has been attributed to recurring sales from the company’s growing portfolio of colour business printer supply products.

 

The company also posted record Q2 income from operations of $0.94 million, a rise of 21 percent compared to last year.

 

Net income for the quarter was $0.63 million, up 38 percent over the same quarter last year.

 

During Q2 2006 as compared to the same period in 2005, sales of colour toner cartridges increased by roughly 35 roughly, while sales of solid ink sticks increased by approximately 22 percent.

 

The company also said that the placements of INKlusive printers during Q2 were down as customers anticipated a new solid ink printer introduction, which is expected to occur in early 2007.

 

For the six months ended December 31, 2006 as compared to the same period in 2005, sales of colour toner cartridges increased by roughly 38 percent, while sales of solid ink sticks increased by approximately 15 percent.

 

CEO Michael Levin said: "Our performance in the second quarter points to the continued strength of our business model and the continued financial health and growth of Media Sciences. Looking forward, we have an unprecedented pipeline of new products. This paired with our recent addition of two new seasoned sales professionals should accelerate our pace of growth."
