Sales growth in its core battery business and Remington shaving unit has seen Rayovac more than triple its earnings in Q3.

The firm posted net income of $12.8 million, or EPS of $0.39, compared to $2.9 million, or EPS of $0.09, a year earlier. Sales rocketed 48 per cent to reach $308.3 million, primarily due to its Remington shaving business.

Rayovac CEO Dave Jones said the integration of the shaving unit was nearing completion while it has initiated plans for integration of the recently acquired battery firms Ningbo Baowang, in China, and Brazil’s Microlite.
