Q4 profit boost for Best Buy

30 March 2006 – Minneapolis (MN): Best Buy has reported strong Q4 earnings from continuing operations of $644 million, or EPS of $1.29, from $521 million, or EPS of $1.04, last year.

Revenue came in at $10.7 billion from $9.3 billion, higher than analyst expectations of $10.5 billion, boosted by strong sales of flat-panel TVs and MP3 music players.

 

For fiscal 2007 the retailer said it will "redeploy resources as well as eliminate redundant and non-strategic work".
