16 May 2006 – Framingham (MA): Staples has posted a rise in Q1 sales and income.
The firm posted net income of $186.1 million, or EPS of $0.25, compared with $147.7 million, or EPS of $0.20, a year earlier.
Total sales increased nine per cent to reach $4.2 billion.
CEO Ron Sargent said: "As Staples celebrates its 20th anniversary this month, we are very proud of what we’ve accomplished, but even more excited about what lies ahead."
