President of Lenovo Americas resigns

25 January 2007 — Shanghai (CHN): Lenovo Group’s Americas president, Scott Smith, is leaving the company to "pursue other interests".

Rory Read, VP of operations, will take over Smiths responsibilities as an interim measure until a permanent replacement is found.


Smith, who also served as a senior VP of Lenovo Group, previously served as VP of Americas for IBM’s PC division before it was bought by Lenovo in May 2005.
