POD market up 66 percent by 2010?

22 January 2007 — Tokyo (JPN): The market for on-demand digital printing is expected to increase by 66 percent to $157 billion in the four years to 2010, according to InfoTrends.

Fuji Xerox expects sales of its production services segment to rise 50 percent to 200 billion yen ($1.65 billion) by 2009/10, attributable to growing demand for cheaper, large volume printing.

VP Hiroshi Kurihara said: "The POD (print-on-demand) market in Japan still needs to catch up to booming demand in Western markets and Asia, such as China. We want to remain a pioneer in this sector as we expect more competition from rivals."
